A number of developments occurred at the regular monthly meeting of the Sumter STEAM Charter (SSC) Founding Board of Directors meeting on August 10.
The board unanimously approved the school’s name be officially changed to Liberty STEAM Charter.
Architect Scott Collins provided the board with an overview of the proposed renovation plans for the newly acquired facility at 15 School Street, which will be the school’s primary academy campus.
As of Aug. 1, Dr. Khalil Graham officially began his work as the Founding Executive Director and Dr. Trevor Ivey now officially joins the school leadership team as its Founding Chief of Staff.
David Loadholt stepped down from the board.
The board received a wide variety of updates regarding its federal CSP grant, facility acquisition, email platform and its temporary office space.
Also in attendance were three representatives from the SC Public Charter School District: (newly appointed) Superintendent Chris Neely, Chief of Staff Taylor Fulcher, and Board Chairman John Payne.
