Dixie Hardy

Managing Director of Operations

Dixie DuRant started her 11-year career in education working with a national education non-profit called City Year. She started as an AmeriCorps Member and worked for a year in East Harlem, which is one of the many underserved communities in New York City.  She then served four schools and held the role of Team Leader, Program Manager and Senior Program Manager during her time there.

In 2016, she moved home to South Carolina where she spent five years working in North Charleston with Meeting Street Schools. She started at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood as the Operations Manager and Director of Operations then was a founding leadership member of the newest Meeting Street School, Meeting Street Elementary @Burns. She was the Director of Operations and later the Senior Director of Operations and Network School Operations Liaison.

 

She did school-based operations as well as supported the other three Meeting Street Schools with network communication, operations processes and procedures and professional development. During her time with MSS she supported MSE@Brentwood growing from a PK-3rd grade school to a PK-8th grade school and MSE@Burns growing from PK-2nd grade to PK-6th grade. She also served as the Title 1 Director, DSS Director and was a member of the Be A Mentor program.

Dixie was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina and holds a bachelor's degree from Clemson University in Sociology. She joined the LSC tam in September 2021.
